What is Junior Club Volleyball?

Junior Club Volleyball is a nationwide junior volleyball system comprised of individual clubs organized under one parent organization (USA Volleyball, AAU, JVA, etc.) for the primary purpose of growing and supporting the sport of volleyball.  Generally, club volleyball offers participants the opportunity to continue to compete and develop skills well beyond the relatively short middle and high school seasons.

When does club volleyball take place?

The Warriors Volleyball Club begins their tryouts during the month of November to ensure High School aged athletes have the opportunity to attend after their school season has ended.  Once all tryouts are completed and team spots are filled, practice for the upcoming club season will begin.  This is usually within a week after the team spots are filled.  The Warriors Volleyball Club plans on having at least one team per age level as follows: 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, 17, and 18U.

Are athletes required to play in the age-level specified by the USAV eligibility standards?

While our athletes may not play at a lower age level than their eligibility, they may be able to play at  an older age level.  Warriors Volleyball Club takes several factors into account prior to allowing an athlete to play for an older age level.  Such factors include, but are not limited to, peer group issues, skill, and amount of players on the team.

How do you determine what age division my child(ren) will play in?

The USA Volleyball ("USAV") organization determines the age definition for all junior club volleyball athletes.  USAV issues out a yearly updated Age Definition chart to determine what age division an athlete should be playing under.
